THRIFT STUDIO CREATOR SUMMIT

Creating Something Worth Sharing

How an IRL creator experience became an opportunity for connection, content and community.

The Project

Goodwill's first Thrift Studio Creator Summit brought together local creators for an IRL experience centered around thrifting, creativity and community. The goal wasn't simply to host an event—it was to strengthen creator relationships, create meaningful opportunities for collaboration and build content that could extend the experience beyond the room.

My Role

  • Creative Strategy

  • Creator Content Planning

  • Influencer Partnerships

  • Creator Briefs & Communications

  • Social Strategy

  • Activation Planning

More Than an Invite List

Bringing creators together was only one piece of the puzzle. The experience needed to feel genuinely valuable to the people attending while also creating natural opportunities for storytelling across Goodwill's channels.

That meant thinking about the activation from both sides: What would make creators want to participate—and what could we build into the experience that would inspire content without making the content feel forced?

Building the Experience

Creator First Planning

Developed creator outlines, content expectations and schedules that gave participants clarity while leaving room for their individual voices and audiences.

Content with Somewhere to Go

Helped shape content opportunities around the activation so the experience could live across creator channels and Goodwill's own social ecosystem before, during and after the event.

IRL → SOCIAL

Worked across teams to consider how physical moments, activities and interactions could translate naturally into social storytelling rather than treating content capture as an afterthought.

Behind the Content

The event itself was only one piece of the work. Behind it were creator outlines, content schedules, briefs, run-of-show planning, social strategy and plenty of moving pieces designed to keep creators informed without over-directing the content they made.

And Then We Let Them Create

Once the framework was in place, the experience had room to do what it was supposed to do: bring people together, give creators something worth engaging with and let authentic content happen from there.

The goal was never copy-and-paste creator content. We gave creators the framework, then gave them room to make the experience their own. Click through to see how they shared it with their communities.

What I Took With Me

The best creator content doesn't start with a posting requirement. It starts by giving people an experience they actually want to talk about.

Build something worth sharing, give creators room to make it their own, and the content becomes part of the experience—not homework after it.
